New England nature and astrology photography of the rising super moon over the Boston skyline with the full moon reflection in the Charles River. The full moon was quickly rising across the Boston Beacon Hill area and the Massachusetts Avenue bridge and making its way towards the John Hancock Tower. Boston nightscape and fullmoon are beautifully reflected in the Charles River while the magical blue twilight is still present. What a treat and pleasure to have experienced and photographed this astronomical phenomena. Next one up 14 November 2016.

Super moon is known as a new or full moon occurring at the same time the moon comes within 90 percent of its closest approach to Earth in a given orbit. It is an astronomical event that happens 4-6 times a year, but according to a NASA Science News story, last nights full moon nearly coincided with the moon's arrival at its closest point in its orbit around the Earth, resulting in the biggest, visible full moon in North America in two decades. Next super moon to watch November 14, 2016 ... mark your calendars.
